Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed issues like racial identification as well as sexuality. Later, she broadened her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Apart from classical music and jazz, Nora Lum began studying hip-hop in her teens. At college, she was studying journalism and women's studies. In addition, she spent a short time studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. She turned her attention to music only after she finished her studies. Her track My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation across the Internet and was later featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour New York Bitche$. The song was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. Following a career that was successful as a performer, she chose to assume the role of an actor. Aside from early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June of that year.
